Yes, we are all very well and alive but way behind in talking about it. I will be posting pics in the next few days of what we have been doing lately. Just super happy and loving it!

Thursday Things!

Most of you that know me, know that I love all things beauty related. So, that makes Sephora my heaven on earth. I try a lot of new things and love finding great new products that work. Here is the new "fave". It is Bare Escentuals new BUXOM Lash mascara. I have tried a ton of mascara's. Some expensive and some cheap. This one is $18. The brush looks like this....

I love how it gets every lash and is a nice black color. Your lashes multiply and are not clumpy. You can wear it all day and no smudging! You can find it here...

Also, my favorite lipgloss is Buxom Lipsgloss also by Bare Escentuals. This gloss stays on and plumps your lips all at the same time... It is a little on the expensive side but seems to last a long time. I find that some cheaper ones don't stay on the lips as long so it all evens out. Well, I found out that Buxom lips has added a lot of new colors to their line and they are all very luscious! This gloss has a great smell and taste. It really has all the things that you want in a gloss. You must try it.You can find it here and note all the new colors....
It has also been voted "Best of Sephora" by all the customers that share my make up love! I would love to buy all of them but won't let myself until I finish the two tubes I have.
These are two products that I can't imagine you would be dissapointed with.
I am going to do some feature finds now and then so keep you newly mascara'd lashes on the look out.

Another busy week!

Whew! We had the Phoenix FBR open, the Superbowl and the Australian Open finals. You know
where my heart was??? Of Course, tennis but I feel like I have to at least mention the other two. The FBR open winner was Kenny Perry.
But most of the locals here were pulling for Phil Mickelson. He has done well here in Phoenix but didn't make the cut this year.

The Superbowl was really fun to watch. It had it all! It was a nail biter at times but the Cardinals just couldn't pull it out. It was hard to see those players faces as the last touchdown of the game went running down the field towards the Steelers end zone. You just wanted to push pause....

We watched it at the Borchiks. The kids had a great time running around and we ate great food with friends. The Borchiks invited some neighbors that were rooting for Steelers which wasn't Jace's idea of a good time. He couldn't get over the fact that these people grew up in Az and weren't rooting for the home team. I ,on the other hand ,spent most of the first half watching another t.v. in the bedroom. I wasn't watching the Superbowl, I mean who's idea was it to have the Superbowl kick off before the Australian open was over? It was a Federer and Nadal match again!

The last time they played it was touted as the best tennis match EVAAAH ! Once again, they delivered exactly what they always deliver. Two of the very best tennis players to play the game. They both had to fight past some very up and coming contenders to get to the final. Nadal had a 5 hour and 11 minute match against fellow countryman Fernando Verdasco. Two lefties. That match was absolutely one of the highlights of the two week Open. I mean, can you imagine being at the top of your game for 5 hours. I have played a match that was just over 3 hours and it is grueling. I am playing at a level that Nadal can play without getting out of bed but your mind still tries to trick you. You sometimes feel like it is just to hot, to hard and you still may not win, so why not just give in? The next minute you hit a great winner and your mind gets back in line. Sports is just not only the physical aspect but you have to keep you mind in line or your body just can't go forward. Can I just hit like this one time?

Nadal's last two matches against Verdasco and Federer ran 577 minutes of Australian open match play. That is 7 hours longer than the #1 womens tennis player played. You had to think that Federer may have the edge to win and attain his goal of the most Grand Slam wins ever. The record will surpass Pete Sampras'.
Just to put Nadals time in context. The number one women's tennis player is Serena Williams. Her total play in her last two matches was 135 minutes.

Nadal and Federer went 5 sets and 5+ hours. It seemed pretty evenly matched until the last set. When Nadal was up 4-2 you could see that Federer was tearing up. His girlfriend in the stand started getting emotional and he just never caught up. It was very emotional to watch. It almost felt as if you were watching something that was to personal to witness. He was sobbbing so hard when it was over, he couldn't speak in the microphone to the fans. It was heartbreaking.

On the other side of the court was a totally different emotion.

These two men are some of the classiest athletes ever. They are both very humble and quietly confident. They have a great respect for eachothers game. Nadal was so gracious as he tried to get Federer to gain some emotional control which, in turn, encouraged the audience to do the same. It was just another example of the humanity of these men.

In the end, there is only one winner and it was more important for Roger to step back out of the picture so Rafa could have his moment.
Amazing, and this won't be the last time we see them face eachother. I just get giddy inside thinking about when the next match will happen!
I must mention some other of my favorite players. Andy Roddick really is playing so well. He has lost about 30 pounds and just looks like he is poised to take another Grand Slam win.
I also love love love Djokovic. He is a very cocky player that is possibly the polar opposite from the humility of Nadal but I just love him. He is 21 and will most certainly attain tennis greatness before he is off the scene. He was playing Andy and was winning when he had to retire due to sickness. Australia has been experiencing a heat wave and it was well over 115 degrees a lot of the time. Yuck! Andy and Novak have a little rivalry so I wanted to see it played out...next time.

So, there was a lot going on but I wish I could have planted myself in front the t.v. for 2 weeks. I have two other loves though and they needed me too.
I finished painting the kids play room and worked on putting some finishing touches on the rest of the house. Here is the play room.

I am absolutely addicted to "wall words". I walk around the house and try to see where else I can put them. So here are the words that greet you at Jaya's door.

Then this is in Jaxx's room right next to Jace's shadowbox of Professional Baseball memories.
Lastly, the stairway! I am not finished with this wall. I will be adding some other "vinyl" decorations but you will have to wait for the reveal.

So, the kids are wonderful and cracking me up all the time. I realized that the same thing that makes me frustrated with Jaya is the same thing that makes her so wonderful too....her attitude. She is so much a Diva and it is so funny and yet at the the same time.... makes me want to hit my head against a wall. Jaxx is still quietly sneaking into our bed..unless it is dark and then he will flash our bedroom light a few times to find a place to "sneak" in. It is pretty funny.
'Til next time....
