Papa's Birthday!

Jace's Dad birthday was today. We took everyone out to lunch. It was a great relaxing way to celebrate. It was Mom and Dad, Jace, myself and the kids along with Grama Honey and Grampa Burt.

The kids had a good time making Papa some gifts. Jaxx made a bat trophy and Jaya made a baseball. Jaya loved the painting. I have never seen her so concentrated on something. At least now I know that the "Tornado" can be still. It was all with Charron's help. She is so great with the kids!

At some point Jaxx decided he could do a much better job as a "Power Ranger". He had to stop what he was doing to get it on and finish the job. I have no explaination for this?! Jaya also had a wardrobe change but is was JUST another dress.

Here is a before!

And an after!(Jaya had help on hers)

Happy Birthday, PAPA!

Frozen moments

As I took the kids to school yesterday, I was snapping pics. Just watching them walk up the steps and into school, realizing how big they are getting. Jaxx will go to Kindergarten next year. I won't be able to help him find new friends, navigate difficult new situations or save him from getting his feelings hurt. Wow, where has all the time gone?? I need to remember that these moments are just that, fleeting. The true definition of "moments". I need to freeze time just to remind myself of this.

Sewing

I am still sewing but here is a little sneak peak of some my latest creations. I would like to get Jaya to do a little runway walk show so you can see what they look like on her. I hope to do that at some point so keep a look out for that. They all have turned out well so far but I still have a few more things to finish!

One is a cute hot pink, black and white Eiffel tower design. I used complimentary polka dot fabrics to trim. The other is a ballerina print with large ballerinas and the complimenting tiny ballet shoe fabric.

She has worn some of this stuff and looks very cute. I can tell she thinks she looks "special" too.

Oh, so sweet.....

So, I just finished sewing and it is 11:30. This was an early night! I got out the camera to take pics of the latest thread and endless hours of creations but found another surprise. I know I have written about Jaxx's love of photography so I do find camera surprises often but these were some pics that Charron took today. I love these too. I keep the camera on the counter ready to shoot any fantastic, cute moment. Charron uses it often when the kids do cute stuff throughout the day. This is like a little hug and kiss when I am just going about my business and not expecting it. So much fun to discover.

The first pic was so sweet. Little Jaya in her cute little flower "tiara" that Charron gave her from her recent wedding. Jaya wears it all the time and says she is late for her wedding but that is another blog!

Then another one of her cute face looking like she is pondering all the problems with the global warming debate.
Then......the pink tornado... she just can't help it. She comes by her disposition honestly. She has all the charm and kindness of her father but all the fire and vinegar of her loving mother;)

Gosh, I love my kids. I love seeing these funny things that they do and get to be present for all of the experiments they run. Well, some of the experiments I could do without...

Daddys little girl goes to school

Jaya went to her first day of school today. She was so excited. She wore one my new creations and looked so cute(more to come of this "ballerina" line). I caught her a few times looking at her dress and just smiling as if to be so happy that she was going to school with Jaxx.

When I picked her up there was only her and one other little girl left. She had her backpack on and was sitting on her teachers lap. She looked at me and little tears welled up in her eyes. The teacher said she could see the look of urgency building on her face as each mom came to get her child and I wasn't there yet. I think she was so relieved that I finally got there that the tears just came. We had to sing our "my mommy comes back" song all the way home to reinforce the idea that I will never leave her. The teacher said that she was great the whole time and she didn't have an accident. She is doing really well with potty training. Our little princess is growing up!

SO, speaking of the little princess. She was a little naughty yesterday so I sent her to her room, after a while I heard a strange reaccuring noise that I couldn't catagorize! I had not heard this noise before so I just wasn't sure what it could be after listening for a few moments. Jaya was laughing hysterically in her room while the noise was happening too. NOW you must know by now that there are two noises that a mother worries about when she hears them but can't see her children....complete silence and hysterical laughter! I open the door to find the Pink Tornado completely disheveled but dressed in her princess "stuff". She had her princess flashlight and was sitting in the rocking chair in her room. Sounds innocent enough right?? Wrong, our bulldog, Bubbles, goes crazy for flashlights. She will chase a light around the house, on the furniture and also....up the walls. So, Jaya was sitting in the chair in her room where I sent her but flashing her light on the wall so that Bubbles was basically banging her head against it trying to bite the light. See, hysterical laughing can sometimes be deceiving. I went and got the camera before I told her it wasn't nice because it was a pretty funny site.

The Pink Tornado blew through again!

By the way, those of you that get email notices of new posts and read them without going to the site directly, miss the theme music that I add to each blog. It is a fun way to help add a something to the "atmosphere" and that is where you can leave your own personal comment to the page.

Anyone want to take a ride on my motorcycle?

No, we did not buy Jaxx a motorcycle! He thinks he is one bad "mutha" with his new clothes. I have been sewing again and there will be more posts in the days to come with more stuff. I do this a few times a year. I collect ideas and sketch them out as they come and then when I find just the right materials I kick them out in a few weeks. I am a self professed "tunnel vision" person so once I start the process, I can't stop til they are all finished. It is hard to do much with boys stuff but this is my favorite set I have made for Jaxx. I have a lot of ideas for Jaya! Jaxx does love to model and ,as you can see, he has his own "style".

This is his "mean motorcycle face". Not sure where he formed this thought of what a mean motorcycle rider is but this is it! I made two shirts and one pair of jeans. While I was making them, I had the iron out. I told Jaxx not to get near the iron and he said "Is it hotter than a spicy dinner?". Funny kid just like his dad! Here are some more detailed pics.

Here is the back of the jeans. This was so fun to make and I was excited when they were finished and looked exactly as I had sketch! When I finished sewing and told Jaxx. He wanted to immediately put them on and said "Dad will freeeak out when he sees these!". Ahhhh, to be five!
