Tennis Season!

Well, the Sony Ericsson open just finished today. It is one of the largest Opens of the season. It is the last one on hard courts before all the players head out of the states and hit the clay. It was full of surprises.

I just love tennis and know that I bore everyone around me with it. It goes beyond just loving to play, I love the SPORT. I love to play it , watch it and talk about it. Since this is my blog....this is where I get to just bore you with it.

This week was an amazing week of upsets in the tennis world. The number one and two players didn't just get knocked out before the finals, a racquet got thrown. Rafael Nadal lost to Andy Murray in the semi's and that was a little suprise. However, the racquet thing is about as bad as it gets in tennis. Funny, huh? It wasn't so much that it happenned, it was more who did it. Roger Federer! One of the most composed and diplomatic players in the sport right now. He rarely shows emotion and this was over the top for him. He was playing Djokovic. I happen to love Novak Djokovic but he is a little arrogant about his level of play, so he isn't usually a crowd favorite. The crowd was definitely rooting for Roger. Roger won pretty easily in the first set and then it just seemed the wheels came off from there. He timing was way off, he couldn't find his zone and he just missed shots that he would not normally miss.

When asked about it in an interview this was his response-

Q. You've had other matches where things aren't going as well and you don't get as upset about that particular moment. What was different about today that you just lost it there for that moment?
ROGER FEDERER: I didn't lose it. I was just frustrated. Just because I smashed the racquet doesn't mean I lose it. Didn't feel great. Didn't feel -- it's just a natural thing I did.
Q. When fired your racquet into the court, did that feel good?
ROGER FEDERER: Not really. Not really.
Q. Do you remember the last time you broke a racquet, Roger?
ROGER FEDERER: Could have been here against Rafa.

Hmmmm, I can't say I haven't wanted to throw my racquet. I have wanted to several times. I did toss my racquet across the court once when I was finished playing a terrible match. If I ever do throw it, I hope I can really do it justice like this....

Yep! Good Job! Roger is having a tough time. I hope he can pull himself together and do well on the clay.I love watching him.

So, Andy Murray went on to win the mens championship against Novak! He is the first British Player to do this. Serena beat her sister Venus in the semi final only to lose to Victoria Azerenko in the finals.

Now, on the the not so pro tour specs. I play in a tournament this weekend. It should be interesting. This is a huge tournament with a lot of talent and plenty of competition. I don't know what my draws are yet so I will let you know and you can come show your support. I am already nervous and it is only Sunday!

Movie time!

Well, the kids have been into making movies lately so I thought I would post a few here. Jaya is giving you a sneak peek at her dance for her upcoming recital.

Jaxx is just practicing his next moves for "America's Best Dance Crew" try outs. He sings while he dances too!

I will continue to post these this week so you can see the library that we are stacking up.

If you get my emails and don't read directly from the site you may have trouble viewing the videos. You may have to go to http://projectjohnson.blogspot.com/. Also, if you are viewing from the site, make sure you go to the bottom of the page to find my "playlist" and pause the music so you can hear the kids talking.

Chowda' Head update

One of the reasons I got a Boston Terrier is so the kids would have a smaller dog that was easier to handle. Jaxx really wanted Bubbles to sleep with him but she is so LOUD and hairy that it was next to impossible to do. She would either take all the room or just snore so loud he would wake up. This is much better!

The Puppy is doing so great. He has fit in well so far and the kids love him. He thinks he is huge and loves to swipe things! Shoes, rugs, toys, binky's etc....

Just Because...

Some of my favorite "looks" of the kids is fresh out of the tub!

Chowda' Head

So, just a quick update. We named the dog "Chowda' ". Well, it is Chowder but if your from Boston (and he is a Boston Terrier) it is "Chowda' ". Remember his middle name that Jayalicious game him....Charlie. Yes, Chowder Charlie.
Well, there is the Charles River in Boston too, right??
He has been really really good.

Happy Birthday to me!

So, here are some pics of the wonderful "decor" from last nights party. The "people" pics will be shown when I get the disc from the photographer. It was a total blast. I had Charron bring the kids for a few minutes and they danced. Jaxx did a full display of his self taught break dancing abilities. It was the best entertainment all night. I can't wait to show pics of that when I get them. The decorations were so very "Fab" and the cake was the most magnificent cake I have seen . It was awesome. Check it out.....Everything is edibible including the sugar shoe!
This was what the guests signed in on...
So fun!
Here is the table that greeted you when you walked in...

And the tables had pics of me when I was I little were on all the table centerpieces. They all looked like Jaya..

Here were the cute napkins!

And, of course, my favorite candy that just happened to match the colors PERFECTLY!

It was really fun. I had a great time and loved every detail that Andrea put together. The DJ spun some great music all night. Jace didn't sit down one time. The food was great and the company was the best. I can't wait to see the pics of everybody that the photographer took. I will post those when I get them.
Thank you, Andrea, for all the work you did. I know it was a nightmare at times but it was so appreciated. ((hugs))

New Addition!

I may have lost my mind but for my birthday I wanted a dog. Here he is....

He is a brindle Boston Terrier. Does he look like a "Rafa" (Rafael Nadal) or a Briscoe? Jaya has already decided that his middle name is Charlie!
He loves his kennel and doesn't whine at all at night. Bubbles could take him or leave him and he would much rather be around people than her so at least he isn't bothering her.
He has been a sweet guy so far! Just doesn't have a name yet!

Spring is here, Spring is here, it's the best time of the year

The first day of Spring is Friday. I should know this since it is my birthday. So, the kids and I planted flowers in all our empty pots this weekend. I so enjoy looking out the windows and seeing happy, blooming, spring flowers. Hibiscus are so wonderful looking and yet I can't ever keep one alive to long. I hope this will survive the spring, at least.

These pots are on either side of the front door as you come up the walk. I especially love the bunny and easter eggs.

This is the back patio before you get to the pool area. It just got a little face lift. New cushions, a spray down and some flowers.

The little pink pot is Jaya's, of course and the flower she picked out.

The side patio got a spray down and pots full of flowers and palms. This is Jaxx's flower, he calls him Sunny. It is the little things in life and stopping to enjoy the flowers makes me smile.

I hope to take pics, in a few weeks ,of blooming pots. We'll see if I can keep them alive.

Happy Spring!

Suns game

Jace and his partner, John Ray, have Suns tickets. They go often and don't miss many home games. I never thought to much of it until Jace took me to a game that John had to miss. Now I get it. The tickets they have are loaded with perks. You go to the game early and there is a spread of beef, turkey, pork, all different types of salads and free wine and beer. Then you go sit in your seats and everyone knows your name as you walk there. You sit down and see this....

Talk about Shaquille O'Neil upclose and personal.
Then half time comes and you go back to your previous eating trough where there is hot dogs and desserts.
It is a great way to enjoy a game and now I know why Jace rushes to every game after work. Oh, forgot to mention, you valet you car across the street from the stadium and when you come out, your car is waiting for you to get in and drive off.
So, Susan and I went on Saturday night since the boys had a birthday celebration to go to from work. It was a tough night but someone has to do it....

Worn out

Yes, the pink tornado does sleep. She passed out on a chair on Friday and this is how Charron found her...
She looks like she is naked underneath her dress but she had on light pink leggings.
Being a tornado is hard work!

Fundraising

Our kids preschool has one big fundraising auction a year. It is a fun night. We put our own table together this year and had a great time. Once again, crappy pics but I wanted something to put on the blog.

It was Holly and Tom....

Holly and I have been friends since she hired me to work at Pottery barn before Jace and I got married. We have stayed friends and now she works at the kids school. She loves it and the kids love her.

Tony and Kelly...

Tony is an agent that works on some deals with Jace. This is his fiance, Kelly, she is a personal shopper at Nordstrom. Yes, this is the person to get to know. I had a recent appt with her to help me accessorize a dress for my birthday party and she was great. It is fun to have such personalized service and she makes you feel special. You should make an appt. for a special occasion.
Andrea and Dale....

Andrea needs no introducing. If you know me, you know Andrea. This is her husband, Dale. They looked "Fabu" but this pic is not a great one.

Us..

Jace golfed that day so he looks sunburned. He and his brother won the tournament that day though!

The last people at our table were Justin and Susan but Susan was working most of the auction and Justin socializing so there are no pics of them.

It helped raise a lot of money and filled all the short falls they thought they may have. I love that preschool and am glad we found it. Jaxx will go to Kindergarten next year but Jaya will be there for two more years.

New Season!

Wow, you'll have to excuse the bad setting on the camera. The user is at fault here not the camera. I keep telling myself I need to get "camera for idiots" book. There has to be one.

Anyway, new T-ball season started. Jaxx really seems to have a love for sports. He likes them all and we have every type of ball in the house. If I had nickel for everytime I had to pick up a ball, I would be rich enough to offer my own stimulus plan. He is an LSU tiger and since we are back in our old house, there are friends from school on the team now. He is really great at hitting, and his throwing is right on, he can run like the wind but his catching.....needs some work. All the kids have trouble catching, at his age, so it isn't like he is behind the learning curve but we definitely need to do some work. This is his second season unlike most of the kids, so he knows more this year. He is more focused and knows more about where the ball goes. I love to watch him play first base. He loves getting the ball all the time and the attention...I wonder where he gets this trait?

Here is his two "at bats".

And off he goes...

Still has his is fan club!He has two games a week so contact me if you want to know when the next one is and cheer him on!

SO far behind...Happy Valentines Day!

Valentine's Day! Yes, we are that behind in blogging. I won't be wordy but just share some photos!
So, of course, I had to have these cookies from my fave local bakery. These cookies went to Jaya's class but there were a few left over for us to have too. The school had a "Lovestock" so here are some pics from that.

Here is the family...without the photographer.
This was Jaxx's contribution. The tie dye heart!

Jaya creation...

The kids could frost and decorate their own cookie. You know that pink is good and the more the better! Eating it is the best, until the frosting is gone.
Here is Jaxx's...

Then we had to work on our Valentine's for our friends. If you got one from Jaxx, it may have looked like this...

If Jaya made you one, it would look like this...
This entry pretty much sums up the term "Pink Tornado"!
And lastly, here are some shots I just took the other day. Just because and they are cute!

They look so grown up.
We had Parent/Teacher conferences and both kids got glowing reports. Happy, healthy, outgoing, friendly, kind, helpful and ready for the next year of school. Jaxx will go to Kindergarten and Jaya will stay at her school but go 5 days a week.
Life is treating us well and we couldn't be more grateful for the blessings.
I hope yours is just as wonderful.
What a difference a day makes..as they say.
