Anyone want to take a ride on my motorcycle?

No, we did not buy Jaxx a motorcycle! He thinks he is one bad "mutha" with his new clothes. I have been sewing again and there will be more posts in the days to come with more stuff. I do this a few times a year. I collect ideas and sketch them out as they come and then when I find just the right materials I kick them out in a few weeks. I am a self professed "tunnel vision" person so once I start the process, I can't stop til they are all finished. It is hard to do much with boys stuff but this is my favorite set I have made for Jaxx. I have a lot of ideas for Jaya! Jaxx does love to model and ,as you can see, he has his own "style".

This is his "mean motorcycle face". Not sure where he formed this thought of what a mean motorcycle rider is but this is it! I made two shirts and one pair of jeans. While I was making them, I had the iron out. I told Jaxx not to get near the iron and he said "Is it hotter than a spicy dinner?". Funny kid just like his dad! Here are some more detailed pics.

Here is the back of the jeans. This was so fun to make and I was excited when they were finished and looked exactly as I had sketch! When I finished sewing and told Jaxx. He wanted to immediately put them on and said "Dad will freeeak out when he sees these!". Ahhhh, to be five!

Back to School for Jaxx

Yea! School has started! Jaxx will go to his preschool one more year and then off to kindergarten. I will cry, of course, but I guess I have to let go at some point ;( He is really getting inquisitive and humorous. I love spending time with both of my kids but one on one has been the best fun with them.

Jaxx will go five days a week and Jaya will be starting at the same school for 3 days a week too. It will be so nice to have them at the same school. They are the best of friends and miss eachother when they are apart. I mean, don't let me mislead you, we still have World Wrestling Federation here at times, but for the most part they are the best of friends. We have to give the school a family photo to keep in their files each year so here is the latest of all of us. It isn't great but it helps to mark the changes in the kids as they grow too.

Jaya has had a few more dance classes and still "lurves" it. Miss Rosemary( her dance teacher) is the best dance teacher E-V-A-H! One of her new preschool teachers name is Heather but Jaya calls her "Ms. Feather". Oh well, close enough and what women wouldn't want to be referred to as a feather? Jaya loves to have her picture taken. She requests it on her good hair days! She is the one that determines what days these are, she is a "princess" after all. She thinks she gets to call the shots around here and I have to remind her that she is not the "boss". I can hear my mothers voice in my head " I am your mother and will always be the mother". Ewww, you never thought you would say this to your kids but yet it finds its way out of my mouth too.

Also, don't forget that you can click on the comment link at the bottom of the posts and make any comments. Other people can read what you say and it can be a fun way to interact with other family readers.

Grama's birthday

Just a quick post to about Grama's birthday.

The kids get excited about all birthdays now. They know there will be candle blowing, cake and gifts to help unwrap. We had a little dinner with Grama and gave her the cake we picked out.

TuTu Cute

Jaya had her very first ballet class on Thursday. She has been talking about it for 2 weeks since I told her it was coming. It was cleverly used by her opportunistic mother as a potty training tool. It worked!

We went to buy her whole "get up" about 4 days before the class. Can you guess what she wore for 4 days! Yes, everyday we had to put on the leotard, tights, little chiffon "tutu" and the "real" ballet shoes. I had to pry them out of her hands at the end of the day to wash them before they danced on their own. So, "THE DAY" comes. She wakes up before any rooster thought about cracking an eye lid (do they have eyelids?) and got herself completely dressed. The tutu was inside out and backwards but it was on. The shoes were on the wrong feet but they were on. She came in and handed me her brush and rubberband to do her hair. It was funny.

I video taped most of the class. I wanted to post a video on here of it but can't seem to get it transferred yet. If I figure it out, I will get it on here. She was absolutely in her element. She is a real performer. Unfortunately, "grace" is not her middle name so that little strong, solid body "lumbered" at times but she was just so happy to be there. I will take more pics next week too. She has class on Thursdays at 10:30 so there will plenty more pictures to come. So far there is only her and another little girl. The other little girl wears the cutest little glasses and is so sweet. I have a pic of them waiting to go into class. They were just so adorable.

For the meantime, here are a few I took this time. I had to take the pictures through a glass partition so they aren't the greatest. I am going to try to go into the class next time to get some better ones.

Just being kids!

Our kids are really having fun just hanging out and running their life experiments. What works and what doesn't needs to be learned now. I don't want them thinking what it might be like to hit their boss just to see what his reaction might be. The trial and error thought process is a constant running system in their heads. I like it when I can catch them while in this thinking process. This is the one where they are silent for a split second just before seeing what might happen if they squeeze an entire bottle of lotion in a small mountain on the carpet (hmmm, pink tornado struck again). So, I thought I would just share a few shots I took this week of them thinking and playing.

Just being kids!

The triplets!

Well, I have to take a small moment to update you on "The Triplets".

They are all remarkable and continue to be "stand outs" among their peers.

I have to say that this blog was inspired from an email that my mother sent me this week. I mean she sends me daily emails, but this one was different. It was entitled "Emily The Brainiac" so, of course, it caught my attention. I hope mom isn't upset that I used her words here but here is what she said.

"Em just called me, whispering on her cell phone from school. She is now in her fall semester teaching Latin and Greek at Veritas Prep School. They had a faculty seminar and announced that they had 1200 applicants for 67 positions at six schools, one of which she won. Thirty-three of those 67 were from the top five liberal arts colleges in the country. She said she wanted to jump up in the middle of the seminar and say, "HOLY CRAP!", but she didn't. I think that shows good judgement; don't you? She has only met one other person from Arizona. The math teacher came from India to take the position. They require pre-calc for juniors, and all seniors take calculus -- no option. Two years of Latin is required for a high school diploma, and they teach it as early as third grade.

She said she wondered why she was chosen to be a part of this very elite group of instructors. I reminded her that summa cum laude for a Bachelor of Arts with a minor in Koine Greek at age nineteen and two months does qualify her as exceptional. That's the SECOND reason for it. When Gar died and I asked God, "How will I ever teach them what they need to know without their dad?" God instantly answered me in six words which I remember like it was a minute ago. He quietly said, "I will make up the difference." That's the FIRST reason.

Had to brag. Love, Sally"

Keep in mind that she sent this out to several people so she would normally not sign her name "Sally" but "mom". Just worth mentioning...

Anyway, that pretty much sums up Emily, except I must add.. she is recording her second CD.

So, I don't have the luxury of talking to much to any of these sleep deprived, over worked, free souls so I some of this info is not completely up to date. It may even be completely WRONG but this is what I know

Reagan is dancing like a maniac. She would much rather travel than do almost ANYTHING else. She doesn't like junk food. She is still working her way through college but since she is getting paid to dance, that is just fine with her. She not only is a professional dancer, she loves choreagraphy and excels at that too. One last thing, her car is in the shop.

Drew leaves soon (may be already gone) for some super, fantastic, elite and exclusive "Conservatory". When you say "Conservatory" , you must use your british accent and purse your lips. So, there are very limited spots to fill each year and a LARGE amount of people apply. I think you have like a short monologue that is timed that you perform in front of a bunch of super accomplished writers, producers, actors/judges! He got in and is headed to Santa Clara. It will be odd to have him in another state but just like most 19 year old "boys", he has not planned anything. Mom says he may just drive up to class 2 minutes before it starts and hope to find a place to live that night. He has been in some fantastic productions at his college theatre and also been a lighting tech, maybe the correct wording is "grip" but who knows. Oh, he has a girlfriend too.

Anywho, this is a cliff note version of what these kids are doing. Be glad this is all I wrote. These kids seem to thrive on trying to out accomplish us normal people and this could have gotten as complicated as Ikea directions on a table you wish you didn't buy after all.
