Nine!

I have so much to catch up on but so I will start here.

Jaxx had T-Ball practice on Saturday and Jace took him. When practice was over, the coach handed out "jerseys", which is just a another word for team t-shirt. Jace was folding up his chair and getting ready to leave while this was happening. When he realized that there were numbers on the shirts he wanted to run over and get "9" for Jaxx. This was the number that Jace wore most of his professional baseball career. Just as he began to head over to the team and try to tell Jaxx to get 9, the coach called it out and threw it to Jaxx. Is this the best, or what??? So, Jaxx and Jace were excited. As I mentioned before, Jaxx has his first game during Jaya's party. So, some of the "boys" are going to go to the game and then hit the party after.

I, of course, took the team shirt as an opportunity to sew a little. The season is short so I didn't want to put a lot of time or money in it but this is the shirt that I will wear when go to Jaxx's games. Their team is the "Angels". I always have to have a little "bling". Do you think they will know who I am cheering for?

This is the front!

Isn't this amazing?

This article was posted today in Perth Australia where a surfer was surfing while a photographer was shooting away. The surfer had no idea that he was that close to a shark. He said that he did see a grey shadow at one point but thought it was a rock?? and laughed! I guess Great Whites are fairly common in Perth. I just can't believe this photo so I had to share. Here is the link to the article.

Two different papers in Australia ran the story.

Yikes! Glad he didn't have a wipeout!

What a great quote!

Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving in a well preserved body but...
rather to skid in broadside, used up, worn out
and loudly proclaiming "Wow, what a ride!".

I must share this. I LUUUURVE IT! I read a blog daily of a woman that designs and sells wonderfully different stuff. I am inspired by her to create stuff for the kids that I can not afford to purchase from her. Today on her blog she spoke about her daughters picture day and how you must smile as you through life. This quote was on on her page today so I am sharing it with you.

Picture day for Jaxx

Jaxx looks handsome as ever and more like an older boy than a toddler boy. I am amazed at how time flies. Jace did his hair but now that I see it in these pics, he kind of looks like he has an egg shaped head. I think I like it more flat and forward but this is more the "look" right now, I guess.
We got news on when Jaxx's first game is....during Jaya's birthday party. Can you believe it? So, Jace is going to take him because Jaxx said he would rather miss Jaya's party than his game. I am a little sad that I won't see it. I can't even send the video camera with him because I need it for Jaya's party. I know there will be more but ....
So, Jaxx is still really loving t-ball and is pretty good. He can really run. He loves to race and has a lot of "competive spirit" in him. Hmmm, let me think, where would he get this????? I am glad to see him really love something. He tried soccer but it just wasn't his "dish". He liked kicking the ball but wasn't prepared for the flock of players trying to mob him while he was doing it. He just decided it wasn't worth the price so ,if the ball even came close to him, he just yelled at someone else to get it. He said he would make a goal when everyone would get out of his way. This really kind of defeats the whole "jist" of soccer. This was not his idea of fun so we didn't sign up again. T-ball seems to be a fun time for him and he can't wait to get there.
Jaxx also can't wait for the fair to get here. Now, I look at the fair and see a bunch of thrown together bolts that could fly off at any minute spewing unsuspecting riders to a surprise ending. If the bolts do stay together and you survive the "carnie" that probably drunkenly put it together, you will get sick from all the snotty nosed kids that touched the disgusting bars with every germy virus that exists. Of course, I never saw it like this until I had children. I always used to love going to the fair too so I just suck it up and take him. We go straight to the "kiddie" rides and I "influence" the "good" rides, those are the ones that I can stand to watch my kids ride on ;) Then when they get off, I throw hand sanitizer on them every chance I get. This is a good compromise for us even if he is an unwilling participant. The fair also starts on Jaya's birthday so there is a lot to look forward too. I will post pics of all the fun stuff coming up!

Picture Day for Jaya!

Today was Jaya's picture day at school. She looked really cute and was ready to smile for the camera. I can't wait to see how they will turn out but here are a few of my own I took this morning. Jaxx will have his turn tomorrow.

I know what you are wondering! How could a child this cute get the nickname "Pink Tornado"? Didn't your mom teach you...looks can be deceiving? She is the best at pulling the wool over your eyes!

Take me out to the ball game...

Yea! We all got to go to one of the last baseball games of the season, thanks to Papa. He is in Tucson with the Rockies and the Rockies played the Diamondbacks on Saturday. The staff took a bus to Phoenix and Papa got us all tickets. A couple that we hang out with very frequently also got to go. Their family is very similiar to our family. They have son and a daughter that are about 1 year behind our two. The boys go to the same school and love hanging out together almost as much as their Dads like to golf together. Jaya loves their daughter Ella and is constantly trying to hug and kiss her much to Ella's dislike.
Jaxx learned how "the wave" works in the stadium and thought it was great!

We had a great time. It was fun to see Papa since he has been in Tucson for a couple of weeks and just to hang out and have a hot dog.

Thanks Papa!

On another note, Jaxx LOVES his T-ball. He loves it more than soccer, that wasn't a good time. His team finally has a team name, "Angels". He will have his first game soon. It has been hilarious to watch his team practice. The errant throws and unneccessary "slides" along with the balls that roll by are almost to much to watch. Jaxx has to been practicing at 1st base and has to wave to anyone that gets the ball to remind them that he is there. Once the ball gets thrown and he tracks it down, he has his own little celebration. He will throw both hands up in victory once he touches the base or fist pump. Once again, I am still thrilled at his confidence among his peers. I love it!

I will definitely be taking pics at the first game and letting you know how that goes!

Finally a post about "Dad"!

Last month Jace qualified to be in a Nine hole shoot out at Moon Valley Country Club. I had Charron watch Jaya while she napped and Jaxx and I headed to the club. We got our own cart and off we went to catch up to Jace who was already on the second hole. Each hole one man got eliminated. 10 guys down to 1 winner! It was exciting to see Jace golf. This isn't an easy sport to watch, if ya know what I mean? Not exactly spectator friendly. So, Jaxx was happy because he got to help drive the cart. Only it brought back the memory of me rolling a golf cart when I young. Yes, ask my dad about that one. It was while he was managing a hotel in Casa Grande. Renee and I were having a grand time riding around the course, until I rolled the cart;) oops, sooorrryyy Daaaaadddy!
Anyway, Jace made it to the last hole and over shot slightly giving the other player the win. He did fantastic but wasn't satisfied with second. I am sure there will be a rematch in the future. SO, today the email went out to all the members with this picture and congratulations.
I am glad, as I did want to post something and didn't take any pics.
Good Job, Jace!
